In order to highlight selections from past collections throughout the year, the Maison Alaïa invited Anouschka, an expert in fashion heritage, who very early on understood the need to stand out with pieces that have a history.
In the 1990s, she acquired an extraordinary collection, including pieces by Poiret, Vionnet, Chanel and Alaïa, among others. Very close to Azzedine Alaïa, we are initiated with her to clothing through time.
The Petite boutique will also present pieces entrusted by friends of the Alaïa Maison, each of which carries a story. In a spirit of sharing, all profits from the sale will be donated to the Imagine Institute, a research institute for genetic diseases. Azzedine Alaïa worked with the institute from its inception and supported it for almost ten years.
“This operation touches us enormously, on behalf of our very first benefactor. It is based on the notions of heritage, crossbreeding and transmission, which are very meaningful for us geneticists. It perfectly illustrates the shared stories of our two worlds, fashion and science, as well as those of two families who are close in excellence.” Stanislas Lyonnet, Medical Geneticist and Director of the Imagine Institute.
