ALAÏA AT L’OPÉRA DE PARIS

Pieter Mulier designed the costumes for PIT, the first ballet of Bobbi Jene Smith and Or Schraiber at l’Opéra de Paris.

For this occasion, costumes were conceived as supple armours made with some of the Alaïa’s iconic materials and inspired by the free movements of the dancers.

They were created with the skills and savoir-faire of the Alaïa’s atelier to match the curves of the bodies, their shapes, and their silhouettes.

They highlight the movements of the dancers. The bodies are enhanced, exalted, celebrated.

This collaboration echoes Alaïa’s unique history — a house where fashion and creation always meet art and beauty.
