A time to slow down and question the possibilities of fashion, by inviting it to dialogue with other creative forms.


“Alaïa by Seklaoui” is Alaïa's fourth Dialogue, with photographer Anthony Seklaoui. Published by Mörel, this limited-edition book offers an exclusive, behind-the-scenes look at the Maison’s creative process, providing a private view of the reality behind the Alaïa collections by Pieter Mulier. Closing with Mulier’s Winter Spring 25 show at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York, this visual record by Seklaoui serves as a celebration of the Creative Director’s first chapter at Alaïa.


Born from the intimate collaboration between Pieter Mulier and Anthony Seklaoui, “Alaïa by Seklaoui” was built upon their shared obsession with the idea of raw beauty. 

Over the past years of Mulier’s tenure as Creative Director at Alaïa, photographer Anthony Seklaoui has closely accompanied the Alaïa teams through fittings, backstage at shows, and in the moments that follow when the collections are presented to the public. “Anthony has a remarkable eye, one that can extract beauty from the chaos,” says Pieter Mulier. “This book is a mapping of the feelings culminating in a show. It records all the hands, minds, and crafts coming together to create the secret chemistry of a collection”, he adds.

Captured through Seklaoui’s unfiltered photography, the book reveals the dedication, exceptional savoir-faire, and long hours of preparation that go into the development of each garment. As a true archival photo reportage, it chronicles, dissects, and documents the journey of a collection, in its purest form. Each image not only presents a visual testimony to the teams’ devotion and know-how but also explores the underlying intensity, vulnerability, and raw beauty that define the crucial steps leading up to a show. A special way to give these defining moments the importance they deserve.
