SANLITUN

Alaïa is pleased to announce the opening of its first flagship store in China, located in Taikoo Li Sanlitun, Beijing. A pure and refined space that further expands the Maison’s presence in Asia.

The two-floor boutique was conceived in close collaboration between Alaïa’s Creative Director, Pieter Mulier, and Swedish architecture studio Halleroed. Together, they envisioned a space that embodies the essence of the House: sensuality, radical minimalism and sculptural lines.

The striking façade, clad in solid Carrara marble, is punctuated with circular and rounded windows that reinterpret Alaïa’s iconic perforated motif. Monumental yet minimal, it offers a new expression of the Maison’s architectural language

Inside, the same purity defines the space. Curved, organic lines are contrasted with sharp geometric forms. A nod to Alaïa’s vocabulary of clothing. A sweeping marble shelving unit anchors the ground floor, while sculptural podiums emerge from the floor, showcasing the Maison’s collection of leather goods and its exceptional savoir-faire. A pair of Paul Poiret’s iconic large cubic chairs in painted wood further enhances the warmth of the space, echoing the dialogue between curves and geometric forms that imbues the store.

The upper level offers a more intimate atmosphere, where clients can discover the complete Alaïa wardrobe, between ready-to-wear, essential pieces and full repertoire of accessories. Philippe Malouin seating frames the views through the boutique’s signature windows, evoking conviviality that have always defined Alaïa.

This opening reaffirms the Maison’s commitment to creating singular environments dedicated to beauty and craftsmanship.
