SUMMER FALL 22
Alaïa’s Summer Fall 22 collection is a dedication to craft, and to clothing as sculpture, exploration of silhouette, experiment in form.
Fundamentally, it is an open and ongoing conversation between the past of Alaïa, and its future.
The body is the core, the foundation always. Volume fashions points of emphasis, new proportions: shoulders have confidence, while the architecture of pieces introduced new volume through cut. Structures permit impossibilities: skirts dance with the wearer, dresses float around the body, invisibly suspended.
The House’s maison’s rich aesthetic heritage is echoed through materiality and silhouette.
This collection also celebrates the dialogue between the arts and inspirations. As reflected by the pieces created in partnership with the Picasso Administration.
Pieter Mulier was inspired by the artist’s Tanagras. These ceramic statuettes sublimate the beauty of women.
Sculpture becomes couture. Thanks to the unique know-how of the Alaïa workshops, six dresses were created. Six exceptional pieces that take up the shapes and materiality of the genius Picasso.
Women remain at the center of creation. At the center of this new collection. And their beauty is multiple.
